Meet the team behind
Mynago
A small team with a big mission, building from Tokyo.
The team
Alej Pascual
Founder
11 languages, 69 countries. Not because of talent, but because of stubbornness and a lot of bad textbooks. After years of figuring out what actually works (and what doesn't), he built the app he wished existed from day one.

Alysse H.
Team member & Japanese learner
Based in Tokyo, learning Japanese through real life, not flashcard marathons. Brings a learner's perspective to everything Mynago builds, making sure the product actually feels like progress, not homework.
Jaideep U.
Software Engineer
Learning Japanese as his fourth language. Builds the systems that make Mynago's lessons feel seamless, and stress-tests them himself every day.
Andrew B.
Software Engineer
Learning Japanese and Spanish simultaneously. Ships the code that powers Mynago's AI lessons, review engine, and everything in between.
Built in Tokyo
東京発
Mynago is built and run from Tokyo. Being surrounded by a language daily (hearing it on the train, butchering it at the convenience store, reading it on every sign) keeps the problem visceral. We're not theorizing about language learning from a Silicon Valley office. We're living it.
We work closely with polyglots, linguists, and everyday learners to make sure every lesson feels like a real conversation, not a textbook exercise.
Why we built Mynago
The biggest language apps in the world have hundreds of millions of users and almost none of them can hold a conversation. That's not a user problem. It's a product problem. Gamification hijacked language learning. Streaks, XP, leaderboards: they're engagement tools, not learning tools. You can maintain a 1,000-day streak and still freeze at a restaurant counter.
After learning 11 languages the hard way, the pattern is obvious: what works is comprehensible input, spaced repetition with real context, and cultural immersion. Not matching cartoon pictures. Not translating sentences no human would ever say. Actual language, in actual situations, reviewed at the right intervals.
Mynago exists because the gap between "what polyglots know works" and "what mainstream apps actually do" is enormous, and millions of learners are paying the price.
