Learn Italian

the polyglot way.

Italian connects you to 67 million speakers and the language of art, music, food, and fashion. The closest living language to Latin. Mynago teaches it through real dialogues, cultural depth, and grammar that flows naturally.

Why Italian needs a different approach

Pronunciation is deceptively easy (until it isn't)

Italian is one of the most phonetically transparent languages: what you see is what you say. But double consonants change meaning ("pena" vs "penna"), open and closed vowels distinguish words in standard Tuscan, and getting the musicality right takes real practice with native audio.

Regional variation runs deep

Standard Italian is based on Tuscan, but real Italians speak with strong regional flavors. Roman, Neapolitan, Milanese, and Sicilian Italian differ in vocabulary, pronunciation, and expressions. Mynago teaches standard Italian while exposing you to regional variation in context.

The subjunctive is alive and well

Unlike English, Italian uses the subjunctive constantly in everyday speech: opinions, doubts, emotions, and subordinate clauses. "Penso che sia" not "penso che è." Most apps avoid this for years. Mynago introduces it naturally through conversation.

Passato prossimo vs passato remoto

Northern Italians use the passato prossimo for everything. Southern Italians use the passato remoto freely. Written Italian uses both. Understanding this regional-grammatical split is essential, and textbooks barely mention it.

How Mynago teaches Italian

Lessons built around your life

Relocating to Milan? Studying art history in Florence? Connecting with family in Sicily? Mynago generates lessons around your real situations, not textbook scenarios.

CEFR-aligned vocabulary

Lessons follow CEFR levels A1 through B2, building vocabulary that maps to internationally recognized proficiency standards.

Natural pronunciation

Neural TTS voices model natural Italian speech. Train your ear for the musicality, rhythm, and gemination (double consonants) that define authentic Italian.

Grammar through context

You learn the congiuntivo, passato prossimo, and pronoun placement through dialogues, not conjugation drills. Grammar clicks when you hear it in natural conversation.

Spaced repetition (FSRS)

The FSRS algorithm schedules reviews at the optimal moment. Learn vocabulary efficiently and retain it long-term with minimal daily effort.

Cultural fluency built in

The aperitivo ritual, regional food culture, formal vs informal registers (Lei vs tu), and why Italians gesture the way they do. Real cultural knowledge woven into every lesson.

Practice by calling Hibiki

Reading dialogues builds comprehension. Holding a real voice conversation builds fluency. Call your mascot in Italian and work through scenarios out loud. The AI remembers what you said and responds in voice.
